OVERVIEW:
The Ardennes Express Line is a project to revitalize three abandoned train stations and create a passenger train route that brings people through Belgium’s Ardennes forest, showcasing its natural and historical beauty.
The line will offer tourists a relaxing experience with transformed stations featuring shops and cafes, reawakening history for its passengers.
OBJECTIVE:
Upgrade three abandoned train stations and two passenger trains —transforming them into a vibrant service celebrating Belgium that will inspire the future. This project aims to create an immersive and unique experience of the Ardennes and city regions. The stations and train line is dedicated to hospitality, entertainment, and education, attracting tourists and locals alike.
Selected train stations: The Royal Station of Laeken, the Station of Montzen, and the Royal Stop of the Ardennes.
SOLUTION:
This is a project that covers multiple facets of design, showcasing how the Ardennes Express Line's brand voice can be presented and the full intentions of the project. The final deliverables are in identity, print, interactive, advertising, environmental, and merchandise. Each solution projects the voice of fun and stability through a consistent design language and bold illustrations. The Ardennes Express Line is further divided into three different and cohesive identities that represent each station.
